Krieg’s Full-Scale Attack On Baratie

With Mihawk gone and Zoro taken away by the others, Don Krieg seizes the moment to start a full-scale assault on the Baratie. His pirates swarm the floating restaurant, trying to seize it as their new flagship while the cooks fight back on the raised battle fins.

The Baratie chefs are tough and experienced, but they’re heavily outnumbered. Even with Luffy and some of the crew helping, the battlefield is chaotic, and it becomes clear that the cooks alone can’t hold the line forever.

To tilt the battle further in his favor, Krieg introduces one of his top officers: “Iron Wall” Pearl, a towering fighter covered in metal plates and shields from head to toe. Pearl boasts that he has never been injured in a fight and that no one has ever broken through his defense.

Sanji Steps In: The Chef Who Fights With His Feet

As Baratie’s cooks begin to struggle against the iron-clad monster, Sanji finally jumps fully into the fray. He can’t watch his coworkers and his home get crushed by Krieg’s men.

Using only his legs, Sanji dives into groups of pirates, knocking them away with powerful kicks. Then he squares up against Pearl himself. Despite Pearl’s armor and shields, Sanji’s precise and heavy strikes let him hold his own, surprising the Krieg Pirates who assumed a cook would be weak.

At first, Sanji looks like he can match Pearl. But when Pearl finally takes real damage and starts bleeding, he panics. Obsessed with his “invincible” image, he snaps.

Pearl begins smashing his shields and using fire-based attacks, spilling oil and igniting flames all around him. The battlefield turns into a burning inferno, threatening to set the entire Baratie on fire. Now, it’s not just about winning a fight—it’s about preventing the restaurant from being destroyed.

Gin’s Hostage Move: Sanji Stops Fighting

Just when Sanji seems ready to push past Pearl’s defense, things take a dark turn. Gin appears on the battlefield holding a gun to Zeff’s head, using the old chef as a hostage to stop the fight.

Gin orders Sanji to stand still and stop resisting, or Zeff will die. For Sanji, this is the worst possible situation. Zeff is the man who saved his life and gave him a place at Baratie, the person he respects more than anyone.

Sanji obeys. He stops attacking, drops his guard, and lets Pearl hit him. Pearl takes full advantage, beating Sanji brutally while Sanji refuses to defend himself as long as Zeff is in danger. The other cooks shout for him to move, but Sanji doesn’t care about his own body—he only cares about Zeff’s safety and the restaurant they built together.

Gin Breaks: The Pirate Who Can’t Kill His Savior

Watching Sanji willingly take hit after hit just to protect Zeff makes Gin crack inside. He remembers being on the brink of death, starving, and being turned away by others—only for Sanji to secretly serve him a hot meal and save his life, even though Gin was an enemy pirate.

When Pearl moves in to finish Sanji off, Gin suddenly turns on Pearl. He attacks Pearl, stopping the beating and claiming that if anyone is going to kill Sanji, it will be him. Sanji and Gin briefly clash, but Sanji is already badly injured from Pearl’s assault and can’t fight at full strength. Gin gains the upper hand.

But when Don Krieg orders Gin to kill Sanji for real, Gin hesitates. He can’t do it. He breaks down, unable to murder the man who fed him when he was at his lowest. This “weakness” enrages Don Krieg.

Don Krieg Uses MH5 – And Luffy Has Had Enough

To punish Gin’s disobedience and show everyone how little he values his own men, Don Krieg pulls out one of his most terrifying weapons: the MH5 poison gas grenade. He launches it without hesitation, willing to gas his own subordinate along with his enemies.

In the chaos, masks are used to survive the gas, but Gin ends up taking the worst of it, heavily poisoned while forcing safety onto others. The sight of Krieg casually sacrificing his own loyal fighter finally pushes Luffy over the edge.

Luffy, who already hates captains that treat their crew like disposable tools, is done watching. With the Baratie burning, Sanji beaten, Gin collapsing, and the cooks exhausted, Luffy steps up to face Don Krieg himself, ready to protect the restaurant and repay both Sanji and Zeff in his own way.
