Luffy Ends The Fight With Kuro

Kuro unleashes his ultimate technique, Shakushi, moving so fast he becomes invisible and slashing everything in range—rocks, trees, his own crew, and Luffy—without caring who he hits. Watching crewmates get cut down by their own captain, Luffy becomes furious at Kuro’s total lack of respect for his men and for Syrup Village. He refuses to run, starts reading the rhythm of Kuro’s movements, and waits for the right moment.

After tanking several hits, Luffy times Kuro’s dash, grabs him mid‑rush and slams a brutal headbutt (like a Gomu Gomu no Kane) straight into him, smashing Kuro into the ground and ending the fight. With their captain defeated, the remaining Black Cat Pirates are completely broken in spirit.

Usopp Saves Kaya From Jango

Meanwhile in the forest, Jango has already forced Kaya to sign the fake will that hands her fortune to Kuro and now plans to kill her and the Usopp Pirates so no witnesses remain. Ninjin, Tamanegi and Piiman try to protect Kaya but are quickly overpowered. Just in time, Zoro and Usopp track them down: Zoro clashes with Jango at close range, creating an opening, and Usopp finishes the fight from a distance by sniping Jango with an exploding pellet shot.

Jango goes down, Kaya collapses in relief, and the kids cry as they realize Usopp really did become the “brave warrior of the sea” he always claimed to be. Kaya finally understands that Usopp was the one who kept trying to protect her, even when everyone thought he was lying.

Black Cat Pirates Driven Away

With Kuro defeated on the slope and Jango knocked out in the forest, the remaining Black Cat Pirates completely lose their will to fight and flee Syrup Village. The villagers never find out how close they came to being wiped out, but Usopp is satisfied just knowing that Kaya, the kids, and the town are safe.

Farewell, Lies – Hello, Going Merry

Later, once everyone has recovered, Kaya thanks Luffy’s crew and Usopp for saving her life and the village. To repay them, she asks Merry, the estate shipwright, to gift them a ship: the Going Merry, which becomes the Straw Hats’ first true pirate vessel and a symbol of their early journey. Usopp says goodbye to Kaya and the kids, pretending to be cheerful and talking big about his adventures, but he breaks down in tears once he turns away, showing how much Syrup Village really means to him.

Usopp Joins The Straw Hats

As Luffy, Zoro and Nami prepare to set sail on the Going Merry, they casually tell Usopp to hurry up and get on the ship, treating his recruitment as something that was decided the moment he chose to fight for Kaya. Overwhelmed, Usopp cries with happiness, officially joins as the crew’s sniper and storyteller, and leaves Syrup Village behind to chase real pirate adventures with the Straw Hat Pirates.
